Our Dentists, James R. Picchetti, DDS, Amy E. Mueller, DDS, David R. Bisterfeldt, DDS and Richard R. Dryer, DDS, MS
James R. Picchetti, DDS

Dr. Picchetti was born and raised in the Chicago area. He graduated from Fenwick High School and went on to Loyola University Lake Shore Campus. He received his Doctorate in 1980 from Loyola Dental School. Dr. Picchetti did a hospital residency program in Iowa City, Iowa in 1981. He was also trained at Northwestern University Dental School Periodontics Program. He is currently certified with training at the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry at Millennium Dental in California. This particular laser aids in regenerating bone and helps reverse many forms of gum disease. He is a member of the American Dental association (ADA), the Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS), and the Chicago Dental Society (CDS). In addition, he is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) which is securely founded in continuing dental education. Dr. Picchetti has maintained his practice in Lombard since 1982. He especially enjoys cosmetic dentistry involving ceramic restorations of crowns, bridges and veneers. When Invisalign, the invisible braces procedure became available to general dentists, Dr. Picchetti was among the first to be trained in this technique. He has had special interest and training in restoring dental implants, snoring appliance therapy, multiple whitening techniques and a holistic approach to replacing mercury fillings. Dr. Picchetti enjoys providing all types of dental services and spending time with his patients. He lives in Downers Grove with Patricia, his wife who he married while in dental school. They have three sons and one daughter who keep their free time quite busy.

Amy E. Mueller, DDS

Dr. Amy Mueller was born and raised in Roselle, Illinois. She graduated from Conant High School and went on to earn her bachelors degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as a member of the prestigious Pre-Dental Scholar program. She continued her studies at Marquette and earned her doctorate there in 2010. Since graduation she has been in private practice in Chicago and is a member of the Chicago Dental Society (CDS), Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS) and American Dental Association (ADA). \r\nDr. Mueller is interested in all facets of dentistry including crowns and fillings, extractions, root canals and restoring implants. She especially enjoys the ability to provide same-day care with ceramic restorations. She is certified in Invisalign and enjoys providing care to the entire family. Dr. Mueller lives in Chicago with her husband and daughter.

David R. Bisterfeldt, DDS

Dr. Bisterfeldt was born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago. He graduated from St. Charles East High School and moved on to study molecular biology at the Benedictine University on a full academic scholarship. He received his doctorate in 2010 from the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Dentistry, where he graduated as his class' Valedictorian. Thereafter, Dr. Bisterfeldt received some advanced training in oral surgery before entering general practice in 2011. He is a member of the American Dental Society (ADA), Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), Chicago Dental Society (CDS), American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), and Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. Besides an interest in general and cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Bisterfeldt is certified in Invisalign and has advanced training in straight-wire orthodontics, interceptive orthodontics, and implant placement. He is an avid participant in continuing education courses and enjoys utilizing new techniques and materials to provide patients with the most updated, comprehensive care possible. Dr. Bisterfeldt lives in Chicago and enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Richard R. Dryer, DDS, MS

Dr. Richard R. Dryer graduated from the University of Michigan with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (’02) followed by a one year general practice residency at Miami Valley Hospital where he received training in a phases of general dentistry with an emphasis in oral surgery and anesthesiology. Dr. Dryer practiced as a general dentist with the Indian Health Service for five years prior to returning to graduate school at the University of Minnesota where he completed three additional years of training in the specialty of prosthodontics. Prosthodontics is one of nine dental specialties recognized by the American Dental Association that focuses on esthetic and reconstructive dentistry to replace missing teeth, occlusion, removable prosthetics, and dental implants including implant surgery and restoration. Dr. Richard Dryer received a specialty certificate in prosthodontics (’13) and Master of Science (’14) from the University of Minnesota where he continued as a full time faculty in the Department of Prosthodontics until 2016. Dr. Richard Dryer is a Board Eligible Prosthodontist with the American Board of Prosthodontics and maintains private practices in Indiana and Illinois and continues to instruct residents in prosthodontics at the University of Minnesota as an Adjunct Assistant Professor.
